Meredith Salenger was born in the California city of Malibu on March 14, 1970. She is one the richest and most well-known film actors. Decker's mom was a soldier spouse and the family relocated to Louisiana by the time Decker was just nine years old. Decker was a winner in a talent contest when she sang her favorite song by Patsy's I Want to Be a Cowboy's Sweetheart. Decker had relocated to Georgia when she reached the age of 15. When she started writing songs frequently, she travelled to Nashville and visited music companies and record labels in the hoping to secure a deal. Her songs were being offered to record labels and other artists by an agent from Big Yellow Dog Records agent when she was 17. Decker was just 17 when she caught the ear of an official from Big Yellow Dog Records. They began selling her music to artists and labels. Jessie James, her moniker for the album she released under that name at the end of August, 2009 was her own self-titled. Jessie James was reasonably successful and included Wanted an album track that made it to into the Top 40 of the singles charts. Decker was always a Country performer, but the album was produced and promoted with pop audiences in mind. Decker was unable to gain control over her music put out after her earlier singles were not so popular. Decker's second album announced under the title Daughter of a Gypsy or Sweet American Dreams was shelved by Mercury and after three singles did poorly in the charts of country music. Decker was released from her contract.
